Leaders in education gathered at the Future-Proofing Education for School: Leadership Wisdom in the Age of AI Summit, a strategic forum held on 8 January 2026 at Summarecon Serpong, to explore how school leadership can navigate the rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. The summit addressed essential questions about how schools can remain resilient and future-ready through visionary leadership and responsible technological adoption.

Hosted in partnership with IT Galeri, Coding Studio, and supported by HP and other technology innovators, the summit brought together a diverse assembly of headmasters, foundation leaders, and curriculum strategists from across Indonesia. SPK Indonesia was represented by Fitriyanti, Yulianto, Rutdiana, Yenny Chandra, and Ame, reflecting the association’s commitment to advancing leadership capabilities for tomorrow’s schools.

The summit’s theme emphasized that technology defines what is possible, but leadership defines what is valuable, underscoring the idea that educational leaders must champion not just AI adoption, but its ethical, sustainable, and pedagogically sound integration into school systems.

A New Leadership Paradigm in the AI Era

Discussion at the summit centered on how school leaders can future-proof their institutions by cultivating strategic leadership wisdom in the context of AI. Presenters highlighted that AI in education offers opportunities to personalize learning, enhance administrative efficiency, and support data-informed decision making, but also requires strong leadership direction to avoid over-reliance and to uphold core educational values.

Key topics included:

Strategic Curriculum Innovation: Designing curricula that integrate AI tools in meaningful ways while maintaining essential human skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and ethical reasoning.

Digital Readiness and Infrastructure: Ensuring that school facilities, networks, and hardware are AI-ready, enabling both teachers and students to engage with cutting-edge learning environments safely and effectively.

Teacher Empowerment and Capacity Building: Equipping educators with the professional skills and confidence to use AI tools as pedagogical partners, rather than as replacements for thoughtful instruction.

Leadership Ethics and Governance: Addressing data security, student privacy, and equitable access as foundational leadership responsibilities in an AI-enabled educational ecosystem.

Leaders also shared insights on how AI can support deeper learning by automating routine tasks, enabling educators to focus more on high-impact instructional practices and student mentoring. Emphasis was placed on how AI should augment, not replace, the human capacity for empathy, judgment, and wisdom in educational settings.

Shaping a Future-Ready Educational Ecosystem

The summit provided a platform for Indonesian education leaders to connect with global thought leaders and to reflect on actionable strategies that align with international trends on AI leadership in schools. Participants left with a renewed sense of purpose—recognizing that in the age of AI, future-proofing education is as much about ethical leadership and human-centric values as it is about technology itself.

By prioritizing leadership wisdom alongside technological innovation, SPK Indonesia and partner schools are positioned to lead educational transformation that is responsible, equitable, and sustainable for the long term.
